Fifty-two hours is a quiet contemplation on progress, technology, and pace. To travel by train is to arrive later. What would have been a six-hour flight from west-to-east (San Francisco-to-Boston), became a 52-hour meditation on progress, landscape, and self. With each generation our fixation on arriving sooner leaves its mark.
